What I learnt from CyberMummy

CM4_groupshot1
What happens when you gather a group of 180 highly talented and influential women in a room together?*

Friends are made, advice is given, hugs and cupcakes are shared.

I learnt that there is no substitute for face-to-face connections.

I discovered there is a whole new generation of mum bloggers on the rise with lots of creativity and enthusiasm.

As the main Cybermummy sponsorship contact for this event, I learnt that brands are very interested in getting to know parent bloggers and what makes them tick.

I learnt that while not all bloggers want to work with brands, many do, and that there is a way to do this with integrity.

CyberMummy reinforced my belief that women blog mainly for connection and support and that this should not be forgotten.

Oh, and mum bloggers love cupcakes.

I’m so excited about next year already.. Had major cybermummy withdrawel this weekend! To be in a room full of women that you feel like you’ve known for years was simply amazing. Roll on CyberMummy 2011 🙂 x

From what I’ve heard CyberMummy was great and I wish I’d started blogging sooner so I would have heard about it… maybe next year?

You have summed up my thoughts exactly, Susanna, especially the part about blogging for connection and support – so true. It was a fabulous day. I’ve been buzzing from it every since (which has nothing to do with the gin I won)x

Hi there and fair play to you for managing to pull the whole thing off. It was a good day – really interesting and something entirely new for me. You know that piece of advice, ‘do something every day that scares you’? Well Cybermummy will probably have earned me enough ‘outside of my comfort zone’ points to last me through to the menopause!
Are you planning on doing one every year?
