9 places see wildflowers in Northern California #ad

Hallelujah! Governor Jerry Brown has announced that California’s 5-year drought is officially over! The warm oceans waters of El Nino have resulted in a plethora of rain.

The heavy rains have given California another gift –  the most spectacular display of wildflowers the Golden State has seen in years!

The best time of year to see California wildflowers is in the springtime – March, April and May – though you can see some throughout the summer. They thrive in grassland, forest and coast climates.

They have cracking names like Pacific Bleeding Heart, Milk Maids, Johnny Jump-Up, Blue Dicks. Make sure not to pick any – just take a photo as a memento. It’s illegal to pick Poppies if it is on state property.
