Dear mummy and daddy,
Your the best people I ever met. I know sometimes I say your the worst but I don't really mean it.
Daddy thank you for playing chess with me and making money.
Mummy thank you for yummy dinners and planing things.
I love you.

Sally, Who's the Mummy | 29th Oct 09
Aw, all the letters my Mum kept are variations of: “I am running away. I hate you. Lots of love, Sally xxx”
Josie @Sleep is for the Weak | 29th Oct 09
Oh how sweet! You know, my mum still has all the letters that me and my brother wrote to her like this. A whole box full! There is one memorable one I remember her showing me where I had written that she was best friend and better than Santa.

Save it so you can pull it out when she hits about age 14.

The Mad House — ooooh, tell more….

How wonderful, children bring you so much joy. I remember my MIL telling me how lucky I was to be having a child and that they would bring so much joy to my life when I was pregnant. well I scoffed, but she has never said a truer word and this is from the woman who fell out with my mum at our reception!!

Awww that’s lovely. I save all the notes Lily writes me for when she hates me as a teenager 😉

Met — yes, not sure where that came from….
Metropolitan Mum | 29th Oct 09
This is so sweet! I love ‘Your the best people I ever met.’ Could have been from someone aged 37, not 7.
A Modern Mother | 29th Oct 09
Liz – good idea, think I’ll frame it. I love the spellings!
Liz (LivingwithKids) | 29th Oct 09
That’s such a lovely letter, do save it and show it to her when she’s 13 and screaming ‘I hate you’ at the top of her voice!
A Modern Mother | 29th Oct 09
Claire — had tears in my eyes when I read it!
