Miracles do happen

Cupcakes

I made these myself. Really. I'm not joking.

Thanks to Betty Crocker's Devil's Food cake mix and Waitrose for the sprinkles.

Now excuse me while I go back into the kitchen and practise some more of my new-found Susie Homemaker skills…

    Those look delicious 😛
For the icing, did the mix come with your packet or was this made from scratch? Mine never seem to turn out so good (so I’m sticking with muffins!).

Owwwwww, they look good. Just seen them when I’m starving and I’ve not a biscuit to be had in the office.

VERY nice! Don’t you love all of the cake toppers they have here in the regular stores? So pretty.
    Well done!

They look scrummy. You may be lucky like me, my 13 year old daughter is a master of cupcakes…and doesn’t want me to help. There is payback!!
Thanks for your nice comment on my blog and for the Mummyblog mention you mentioned.

THey look fab. Send the pic to http://www.mumswhobake.co.uk – it’s a new website for mums who bake funnily enough. 🙂 They have a gallery where you can display your successes.

Im going to cheer you on because as a foodie I want to encourage anyone to get into a kitchen and get cooking. Your cakes looked great. Just today Bronwen was asking for chocolate cup cakes – tomorrow’s activity I wonder…..?

    VERY, VERY, IMPRESSED!

A lot of children don’t like icing. Don’t they know that cake is pointless without it?

Thanks for all you votes of confidence.
I don’t think they tasted as good as they looked — one of the little boys at the party took one bite and passed it to his friend. He said he didn’t like the icing (not inviting him next year!)

They are great – wish I could bake like that.

    Top notch.
When it comes to baking I have yet to stray from the packet + egg approach. Good on you.

Betty Croker? That name is a blast from the past, though I think my mother still uses her 35 year old Betty Croker cookbook. That purchase was what I call an investment!

They are lovely and I bet delicious too. Pass me one with lots of sprinkles 🙂 Cookies I can do, but layered cakes still elude me.

Well done! I made my first cupcakes at easter thanks to a sainsburys mix didn’t look as good as yours though x

Wow! I’ve finally mastered a couple of cake and muffin recipes, but making them look pretty is lost on me. I’m going to leave that to Rosemary, I think!
