The Christmas Cake – Part 2

Here's the finished cake. Yes, it's my first. I feel like I should christen her, she weighs nearly the same as a newborn. Thanks Delia, you've allowed me to find a new level of Englishness.

Respect! She bakes, she ices. She organises conferences and stuff. Is there nothing this woman can’t do?

It looks amazing! Well done. You are really tempting me….only trouble is I am the only one that eats it. That’s a lot of calories for one person. ;0)

Very very nice… what does it look like UNDER the icing?

My God, it looks gorgeous! I saw the mix in Waitrose the other day and was looking at it. A woman next me to struck up a conversation about it, saying she’d once tried a similar mix from Sainsburys that was very good. Obviously Christmas cake is something people can bond over.

Loving the minimalistic decorations! (And congratulations on making and icing your first Christmas cake…)
