Met the @visitcalifornia folks at @framelessldn today. Like the art at the venue, California is always changing. So exciting to talk with the different regions and learn about new hotels, restaurants, activities and more! Very excited to hear about the Bahia hotel renovation in Santa Cruz, sushi and wine in Yosemite and of course the new Michelin guide comes out on Monday. This time of year my thoughts turn to the Golden State and I start planning for the summer! My number 1 suggestion for Dubrovnik is to walk th

My number 1 suggestion for Dubrovnik is to walk the city walls. It’s a scenic mile-and-a-quarter stroll and a great way to get your bearing of the old town. The walls were built up in the 15th century to help protect Dubrovnik (it’s crazy to think 1991-1992 siege wasn’t long ago!)We bought a 3-day pass which included the Wall and a few other attractions, plus the bus! (More on that later).

|AD| Our final stop: Boulogne Sur Mer, France’s busiest seaport and home to Nausicca, Europe’s largest aquarium. Nausicca’s mission is to educate about global warming and our responsibility to respect and protect our beautiful marine life. There’s a promenade to explore and lots of activities available. We found a wonderful seafood restaurant on the Boulogne docks. Le Chatillion is set amongst warehouses and gets it’s seafood straight off the boats. Dock workers mix with businessmen and tourist in a casual atmosphere (reasonably priced too). Just 30 minutes from Calais. If you like seafood NEED to visit here. |AD| Le Touquet Paris Plage is very popular - literally “Paris’ beach”. It’s one of my favourites too with pine forests, sand dunes and seaside. Plus the closest French L'Art de Vivre to the UK. Lots to do here - exploring via bicycle, horse rides on the beach, finding the seals, shopping and eating amazing food! |AD| Spent yesterday in Saint Valery-sur-Somme and

|AD| Spent yesterday in Saint Valery-sur-Somme and neighbouring Le Crotoy. We’re on a press trip making our way through Hauts-de-France. Our first stop was the pretty town of Saint Valery-sur- Somme. It’s just 115km from Calais and 30km south of Le Touquet Paris Plage. We stayed in Le Crotoy at Les Tourelles, which has fantastic views of the Baie des Somme. We rode around the Bay on the iconic steam train and then in low tide did a 3 and 1/2 hour guided walk across the bay! Our guide Maxim Marzi guided us through streams and sand and clay while sharing his love of nature and the Baie. We learned how to enjoy nature whilst leaving it virtually untouched. There’s so much to do in this area we will certainly be back as it is an easy trip from the UK. #explorefrance @explorefrance #ilovenorthernfrance @lestourelles_baiedesomme @chemindeferbaiedesomme @maxguidenbaie

Loving exploring the bright and colourful Mission area in San Francisco. Home of the best burritos IN THE WHOLE WORLD (La Taqueria on Mission Blvd) and also some weird Chinese food (Mission Chinese). Also don’t miss Bi-Rite Creamery. Guam looks good too. There’s enough cool factor for the teens too. A quick trip to California to see family. This is Russian Ridge Preserve, part of the Mid Peninsula Open Space Preserve. It think it’s one of the best place to see wildflowers in Northern California. These are California poppies and lupins. So pretty!

A short walk with the puppy! We call this the “posh” walk because it goes through a Swiss billionaire’s property with a deer park and huge modern art statues. Public footpaths started as ways for people in the countryside to walk to towns or to work. They still exist today and are a great way to explore local areas.

Starting the New Year with a walk with the puppy at Cliveden. We carried him a lot of the way, but he loved meeting new dogs and all the treats we gave him to coax him along. Here’s to 2022!

And here’s the other side - a close up on Beachy Head looking out towards the lighthouse. This was a 4-minute drive from our cottage, or you could walk there in 20 minutes or so. Really enjoyed our weekend here, it was our first time in Eastbourne/South Downs.

The view of Seven Sisters chalk cliffs over the Coastguard Cottages just outside Eastbourne in Sussex. To the left is the gorgeous Cuckmere Valley. This view became world famous after Microsoft included it in a Windows 7 screensaver of beautiful worldwide views. I have to say I agree. To get here just drive to South Hill Barn BN26 5SW, park and walk for about 15 minutes. Just stunning!
