Take an #AtlantisSelfie to win a luxe holiday in Dubai!

The Modern family recently visited Atlantis, The Palm, the luxury resort in Dubai. You know, the one which is really popular with families because of the fabulous waterpark, where you can swim with dolphins and zoom through miles of water slides!

OK, I’m exaggerating a bit. We visited a mini version of it. The Bluewater shopping centre has an exact sand replica of the hotel – made by four  talented artists and six tonnes of sand!

Why am I telling you this? Because if you take a selfie in front of the Atlantis Sand Sculpture, tweet/instagram or facebook it using #AtlantisSelfie by 5 June, you could win a pretty cool holiday at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai.

How to take a good selfie

Not good at selfies? Below are some tips from the amazing Julia Boggio (who took my recent pics).

1. Hold the camera above your eyeline, so you need to look up at it. This does all sorts of wonders for the neck and chin!
2. Try to do it in even natural light, facing a window if possible. But don’t do it in direct sunlight.
3. If you are taking a selfie with somebody else, pose yourself behind them slightly. It makes you appear smaller (read: slimmer).
