Halfterm: 13 Recommendations for a February Staycation! #AD

February half terms can be tricky.  What do you do? Skiing is an obvious choice. The only issue with skiing is a) it’s very expensive and b) it’s very crowded!

If you want guaranteed sunshine you need to travel fairly far afield, like the Caribbean or Dubai. That’s a long way to go for a week! You can get a little winter sun (though not guaranteed) in the Canaries or North Africa. We went to Marrakech last February and it was fab.

Finances this year are leaning towards a Staycation! But where? February in the UK can be unpredictable. It will be cold and if we’re really unlucky it will be stormy too.

But there’s always London! Lovely, lively, always-something-to-do London! So when Klook asked us to take a look at their app and recommend a few activities, we thought it would be fun!

Klook is one of the world’s fastest-growing booking platforms, covering attractions, tours, land local experiences. They also offer local transport, hotels and railway services. You book activities via your phone or on a laptop and get instant confirmation for most activities. You don’t have to print anything – you just download the tickets straight to your phone.

As the official partner of top attractions and operators worldwide, Klook’s products offer quality experiences at a very good price. It’s an easy way to find activities, attractions and things to do wherever you travel.

PLUS – right now they are having a Half Term sale. If you book more than £100 of activities, you get £10 off. Use this code.

Here are just a few things on offer from the Klook app:

1. London Eye

Everyone has to do this at least once in their lives, even better if you can do it once a year! Each time we go on the London Eye we see something different. Did you know there are 32 pods on the Eye – one for each borough of London (that bit of knowledge won me a point at my last pub quiz!) Get a discounted London Eye Ticket here.

2. Hop on Hop off Bus Tour

This is a fabulous way to get around London and learn about it at the same time. You can get on and off at scream stops, allowing you to tour London at your own pace. Get a discounted London City Tour Hop On Hop Off Bus Ticket here.

3. Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament Half Day Tour

I’ve visited Westiminter Abbey yonks ago, but the girls have never been and would love to visit. Parliament is amazing too (you can sit where they have Question Time). Get discounted Westminster Abbey and Houses of Parliament Half Day Tour tickets here.

4. St Paul’s Cathedral Skip-the-Line Ticket

Same with St Pauls, we’d love to visit. A friend of mine was married here (not Charles and Diana 😄). Get discount St Paul’s Cathedral Skip-the-Line Tickets here.

5. View from the Shard

I’d love to do this – with a glass of champagne in hand. Have you been? Get discounted View from the Shard tickets here.

6. Kensington Palace Tour

This is another royal place to visit that would be fun. When we went they had halfterm activities on and we could dress like courtiers. It was so much fun! Get discounted Kensington Palace and Hampton Court tickets here.

7. The Lion King

My girls have wanted to see this for ages. Get discounted Lion King London Theatre tickets here.

8. Wicked the Musical

This musical shows the flip side of the relationship between the Wicked Witch of the West and the nice witch of the East. Get discounted Wicked the Musical tickets here.

9. Matilda the Musical

Another all-time favourite. You have to see it at least once. 😄 Get discounted Matilda the Musical tickets here.

10. The Making of Harry Potter

My girls are Harry Potter fans and absolutely love this! You can even try Butter Beer if you would like! Get tickets for The Making of Harry Potter (with train tix) here.

11. Jet Speedboat Experience

I’ve done this with friends, it’s really fun. Don’t worry you don’t get wet (unless you sit in the front of the boat). 🤣 Get discounted Thames Jet Speedboat tickets here.

12. Madame Tussauds

The best place to take selfies with famous people! Get discount tickets to Madame Tussauds here.

13. Mamma Mia the Party

A friend of mine did this over Christmas and she said it was a hoot! This immersive experience is a show, and a dinner at a tavern (with dancing on tables) all in one. Get discounted tickets to Mamma Mia the Party here.

I’ve never heard of Klook before – it sounds really useful. I’m desperate to take my girls to London – I know they would love Madame Tussauds, the London Eye and to go and see a West End Show. We have been to Harry Potter World twice and LOVED it. There really is so much to do on a staycation in London – we’re so lucky to be spoilt for choice 🙂
