If it’s mid-April, it must be bluebells!
We look forward to seeing them every year, usually after Easter, and are lucky to have so many options to see them near our home in Oxfordshire.
One of my favourite places to see the stunning display is the National Trust’s Grey’s Court in the southern Chiltern Hills. Each year the ancient woodland has a carpet or purple bluebells. The secret is picking just the right weekend, when the colours “pop’ as the bulbous flowers make the most of the sunshine before the canopy of trees cascades them in shade.
I’ve listed other venues to catch bluebells below. If you know of any other special places, or have your secret spot, please let me know!

I didn’t get to see any bluebells this year unfortunately, I adore the way they bob about in a breeze, they always look as if there dancing to their own music.

I love that the wood is roped off. We have one locally and it always saddens me that the bluebells get trampled 🙁

I’m so jkealous – we went looking for our local bluebell field last weekend and didn’t find a single bluebell 😉

Funnily enough we went in search of bluebells near us at the weekend. They are so stunning and we always enjoy seeing them. It is such a shame that they don’t stay around for long.

We have a little bluebell dell near where we live and I remember visiting it as a child with my Mum, Aunt and cousins for picnics. I love doing the same with my kids now we live here. When we lived in Berkshire we visited 3/5 of your best places to see bluebells.

It’s nice to have the best spots in an area picked out. Got me thinking about our area.

I really do love bluebells and to see them spread out everywhere is truly a wonderful sight. I love your photos. I’ve pinned your post for anyone wanting to visit bluebell woods in Henley.
