A winter garden

Garden fountain
It snowed in the Thames Valley yesterday. The flakes dissapeared as quickly as they came, but not before I had a chance to go into the garden and take some pics.

Garden kale

First of course I checked the veg patch. You have to love kale. They were already dressed and enjoying the snow.

Garden leeks
The leeks had just finished sledging.

Garden half tree

Woe is me. Is it the snow or that she has lost her bottom half.

Garden legs
Here's her bottom half.

Garden compost
Do you know a gardener that isn't proud of her compost? See the snow melting from the heat?!

Did you enjoy the snow?

Lorna — Have fun in Mammoth — I had good memories skiing there with friends…
Toni — We got about eight more inches last night! I think we’ll make snow ice cream.

No snow here but I am not big fan of snow although it is beautiful to look at 🙂

Love that you’re so proud of your compost! No snow, just more sun. Off to Mammoth soon though – lots and lots of snow then.

Met — it dumped here this morning too, yay! Out with the sledges…
Rosie — I agree it is not fun if you have to travel!

Hate it! The snow that is not your lovely pictures. It snowed in the Midlands today – just as I had set off into town. It is pretty for about half an hour but then it is just too cold and it takes twice and long to get anywhere. I could grumble on…

It’s snowing. Right now. And it seems to settle. Yay!!

    Insomniac — cute!
Expat — skiing again? Can’t wait to hear, cough, cough
    2many–thanks!
Mwa — I think she is quite wonderful in two parts of the garden at once!

Oh, woe is her! I’m thinking the snow is the least of her worries.

The snow makes everything beautiful. Enjoy your lovely veggies.

Lovely garden. We don’t have snow at the moment, but we’re getting ready to go to lots of it.

Lovely pics! We’ve just had a light covering and my 3 year old is standing at the window shouting, “Look at the mess Mummy!” Hehehee!
    🙂

    Vic – don’t worry, there’s more to come…

I watched it thorough the office window and it was all gone by the time I ventured out for lunch. Probably a good thing or I’d have made a fool of myself falling over in it!

Bosnia — we’re hoping for more over the weekend … have a dafe trip
Liz — yes she does look sad doesn’t she

ooh pretty – your photography is really good, Susanna. I feel a bit sorry for the Botticelli-style Venus though. Poor love.

    Oh I miss England.
We’ve got snow. Tonnes and tonnes of it. And it is going to carry on snowing from now until the weekend (when we have a 14 hour drive to make at some point). I’m fed up of snow. Cold, wet, miserable, muddy. My boys on the other hand think it is the nectar of winter play sent from the gods. Right up until they get a snow ball in the face and then cry.
Bah humbug. Wish I was back in the temperate and green land.
    hot chocolate helps though 🙂
